|
Leopold and Josefa Staribacher rented an inn on the foot of Kogelberg.
Josefa was a waitress and put all her heart and
soul in keeping the inn. Her husband Leopold ran his own carpentry in a farm
building adjacent to the inn.

The property passed into the ownership of the Staribacher-Family.
Even then, the inn was well-known for its “Backhendl”
(breaded chicken).

|
Daughter Traude takes over the family business together with her husband Anton Pfanner.
The building is enlarged and renovated.

The children Ingrid, Gerald, Christian and Wolfgang were integrated in the
family business affairs since their early childhood.

The business was handed over to Gerald, Ingrid and her husband
Hannes.
Together with Christian, the chef de
cuisine of the restaurant, they turned the “Backhendlstation”
(an inn, where mainly breaded chicken and other regional specialities
are offered) into a restaurant which is well –known far beyond the borders of Southern Styria.

New construction and enlargement of the
complex. Private apartments were added.

2001

New construction and opening of the 4-star hotel on 1st July.
Since then the whole extended family runs the
hotel and restaurant.
